OpenAI releases ChatGPT for Financial Services

ChatGPT for Financial Services released — built on GPT-6 Astra, it provides financial research and analysis, financial modeling and valuation, generation of client-ready Excel, Word and PowerPoint deliverables, interactive charts, and source citation with evidence tracing. Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News, Crunchbase and Fiscal.ai supply earnings call transcripts, financial statements, company fundamentals and private-company data by default, and more than 50 connectors — including S&P Capital IQ, LSEG, MSCI, Dow Jones Factiva and Moody's, as well as Datasite, Box, Preqin, FactSet and Intapp — connect through existing subscriptions. Morgan Stanley and Evercore took part as design partners, with investment banking and equity research as the first targets; it has SAML SSO, SCIM, role-based access control, encryption at rest and in transit, and compliance log export. It is offered to qualified financial institutions through sales contact, and pricing is undisclosed.

Why it matters

A case of a frontier model going beyond a general-purpose assistant to be vertically integrated into the work stack of a regulated industry; data connectors and audit logs have become product requirements as important as model performance.
