How assistant agents could change the internet and ads

A talk show discussion of how internet use may change, based on a month of using 4 personal assistant agents. The agents were most valuable at catching missed tasks and doing tedious ones, for example remembering a deadline from an email a month earlier in a pile of mail and even drafting a request for more time. The outlook is an internet where people tell an agent what to do instead of opening apps one by one, which could hurt shopping and search businesses that advertise to visitors. On the other hand, there is a story of an agent asked to write a firm rejection that sent wording mentioning legal action, which led to an apology. It shows why outgoing messages are safer when a person checks them before sending.

Key points

  • It caught a missed deadline and even drafted a request for more time
  • An outlook of telling agents what to do instead of using apps
  • Ad models built on visits could be at a disadvantage
  • Asked for a firm tone, the agent sent overly harsh wording

This is a note: my own write-up after reading several sources. It has no source link; events checked against a source are kept as records.
