A coding agent from circuit design to mass production

A hands-on account of using a coding agent not for software but to build a small electronic product. The agent installed and connected the design tool's integration interface and relay server by itself, and the person only approved permissions. Notably, after having it draw a microcontroller circuit to the official reference design, a separate step asked it to review the circuit against that reference again. Because the integration feature is still in development, a person finished the schematic cleanup, the board outline and the layout of several boards on one panel by hand. After the prototype worked, the boards were mass-produced through an assembly service, and firmware was loaded onto many boards at once before packaging.

Key points

  • The agent handled installation and connection; a person approved permissions
  • A separate step reviewed the circuit against the reference design
  • Schematic cleanup, outlines and panel layout still needed human hands
  • After the prototype check, production went through an assembly service

This is a note: my own write-up after reading several sources. It has no source link; events checked against a source are kept as records.
