Researchers release ScienceBuddy

ScienceBuddy released — a conversational science-agent workspace that turns researchers' requests, feedback and execution evidence into tasks and evaluation rubrics for continual learning. It is a "recursion within recursion" setup that layers an inner loop, which refines the system structure with the model held fixed, and an outer loop, which trains the model within the improved structure; presents case studies in 4 families of scientific tasks.

Why it matters

A design that seeks to draw self-improvement out of ongoing collaboration with researchers rather than out of benchmark scores. Together with ModularRSI and SoL-Pi from the same week, it forms a trend in which "the target of improvement has moved from the model to the working environment".
