Hugging Face releases @huggingface/kernels

@huggingface/kernels released — 207 WebGPU kernels for local inference running in the browser, distributed under Apache-2.0. States that WebGPU availability varies by browser, operating system, GPU and driver

Why it matters

A case of attacking, under an open license, the point that the bottleneck of on-device inference is kernel implementation rather than models. Per the company's report, it is 2.57 times faster than ORT WebGPU by geometric mean and 1.90 times by median, with Add at 3.52 times and Softmax at 2.11 times. Axis ⑲ has the fewest events of the 22 axes
