Researchers release Boundary-Calibrated Intervention Transfer (BCIT)

Boundary-Calibrated Intervention Transfer (BCIT) released — asks, for autonomous post-training systems, whether a past training success still holds after the model has changed, and presents a method that binds past effects to their original context and approves the reuse of experience only after checking the conditions under which it applies

Why it matters

A strand that directly tackles the problem of self-improvement loops wearing down performance by reusing past successes uncritically. In the authors' own reporting, with a 4B model across three domains — financial reasoning, text-to-SQL and function calling — approvals of harmful updates fell and final quality was higher on the same budget
