METR releases Time Horizon 1.1

Released Time Horizon 1.1 — tasks increased from 170 to 228; evaluation infrastructure switched from Vivaria to Inspect. Only 14 of the previous 33 models were re-evaluated. The doubling time for the period since 2024 went from 109 days to 89 days

Why it matters

A case of the issuing organization itself showing that a change in methodology alone moves the numbers. The top model's 50% time horizon of about 5.3 hours is based on this revision and cannot be compared directly with the previous version
