ISO/IEC TR 5469 published — AI and functional safety. Distinguishes three types: use of AI inside a safety-related function, assuring AI-controlled equipment with non-AI means, and use of AI in the design and development of safety-related functions
Why it matters
When inspection AI is tied into a safety interlock, defining which type it falls under is the starting point for audit readiness. Note, however, that it is a Technical Report, not a normative standard that can serve as a basis for certification
